Hey! Thanks for taking the time to learn a bit more about me. Most of my colleagues and friends know me as “Coni“, which is a nickname I prefer.
To give you a brief introduction, I’m Chilean yet have lived almost a third of my life in the U.S. After studying Journalism for a year and a half in Santiago–a field I will always remain passionate about– I decided my writing and investigate interests were better served in the field of Marketing. Paired with the fact that I craved an international experience and diversity, I took a leap of faith and moved to New Jersey, where a few years later I earned my B.S. in Marketing from Rutgers University. After graduating, I worked at a small advertising agency for a few months, and then a headhunter reached out to me about an opportunity with UBS Global Asset Management, where I would end up working almost two years. It was an amazing experience in which I had the chance to further my marketing and content skills, working with colleagues across the globe. Leaving the company was a very hard decision, but even then I knew I wanted to drive my career in more innovative and creative settings, so I decided to go back to Chile, leaving amazing colleagues and friends behind, but with whom I still keep in touch.
After this time, I moved back to Chile to start my own company Navitas, which I ran for almost five years. I worked with so many different clients it’s hard to keep track of all the amazing work that we did with my team; from digital marketing to multimedia productions to media campaigns, we have such a great run with long-term clients that the accounts kept growing and requiring more of our talented consultants. During this time, I came into contact with colleagues who were working in tech, which at the time was definitely not as big a sector as it it nowadays in South America. I learned that much of the work we did could add value in this industry, so after some time, I decided it was time to pursue my masters in digital innovation to both validate my work and further my expertise as a marketing and business design expert.
I have been living in Spain for the past few years, where after pursuing my M.A. in Strategic Design at Istituto Europeo di Design, I fully reoriented my career in tech, working mostly with computer software companies like CARTO, GLOBANT and BBVA– always within the fields of business strategy and marketing.
Over the past nine years, I’ve worked with startups, NGOs, SMEs and multinationals across the globe, and regardless of the size of the company, culture has been the key motivator when it comes to thriving within a company. I also believe that your company is practically your second home, and as such, amazing relationships can take place in the workplace with your team, which has been my experience at every company I have worked at.
On a personal note, I’m a sucker for outdoor activities that include long walks and sitting by a lake with some hot cocoa, friends, dogs, board games and some music. My favorite writer is J.K. Rowling, I love the concept of lazy Sundays and yes, I do believe we will live to see aliens 😛
I hope this brief introduction has given you a better idea of my background. Though I’m currently living in Madrid, I am also open to opportunities in Toronto and Vancouver. You can download my resume by clicking on this link. I also encourage you to view my references on my LinkedIn profile.
